    Vlookup

I am having the following two errors in vlookup in excel 2007 using lookup statements that look like the
    following: =VLOOKUP($E2,'Contacts Master'!$D$1:$H$3000,5,0)

    1. The first problem is I am tyring to display a phone number extension. This works fine with there is a phone number extension. If there is no phone number extension, the column displays 0. Is there any way for the column to display a blank (nothing in the column)? If so, how do you accomplish this goal in excel 2007?

    2. The next problem is I get #N/A in the columns where there is no match in the lookup table. Thus is there a way to leave the appriopriate cells as blank with nothing in them? If so, how do you accomplish this goal?

    Re: Vlookup

    Try this formula:

    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP($E2,'Contacts Master'!$D$1:$H$3000,5,0),"")

and then format the cells as Custom from the Number tab, and enter Type: 0;-0;;@
Where there is a will there are many ways.
