Why not use replace "603" with "603-"?

Re: How to add a - in between numbers

    1) Highlight the column of values
    2) Press CTRL-1 to open the formatting window
    3) Apply a Custom number format of 000-00000

This will make the numbers LOOK like 603-20001, but won't actually change the values in the original cells.

Re: How to add a - in between numbers

    @ Andy That will replace all instance of 603 e.g. 60320603 > 603-20603-, or e.g. 60326035 > 603-2603-5

@ Jerry Okay, the operative words are "...it will look like this 603-20001", missed that!
