Cell giving suggestions according to earlier typings in cells above

Hi! In my search for a solution for a problem, I found this thread:

    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-new-...453-names.html

.. in which the attachment in #4 does exactly what I need to do myself. The thing is that I can't see how the outcome in the attachment in #4 is acheived. I have attached the file here, and it is highly appreciated if anyone can provide me with link, formulaname I can google, or someway else to find out how to:

    A) get suggestions in a cell according to the values in cells above (in the attachment happens in A6 and down).
    B) make excel functions not appear until the reference cell is filled (in attachment column B and C contains the formula and column A being the reference.

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Timo

The thing is that in the solution in my attachment, the B and C columns contains actual formulas. And in case I want to change those formulas or apply same thing for another sheet or wb, it is far easier if I can avoid VBA coding if possible. I was guessing it should be, since there is no VBA (at least not visible) in my attachment. Sorry if I didn't say that before, and thanks for the help so far!

Hello again Timo. The functions you're requesting are native Excel options. Formula AutoComplete can be turned on/off via Excel Options on the Formulas tab and Extend data range formats and formulas is on the Advanced tab. Does that answer your question? Thanks!
