Count the number of projects completed within a 1 week period.

    Hello,

This is my first post, I hope I provide enough information.

Example: A1:A100 would be project name, B1:B100 would be project start date, B2:B100 would be project completion date.

I want to know how many projects were completed during each week (monday to Friday) (additional purpose is to graph the cumulative weekly completed projects) and I need a formula that will allow for that. I have 'dallied' with the sum and sumproduct functions but have not been successful.

    I am using Excel 2007
    HELP!

Have you tried to "dally" with =countif()?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

I hope that the attachment helps. Box A shows the main data input. User would input start date when project has begun and end date when project has completed. Box B shows the number of completed projects during a start and end date (this is what I would want a formula for...manually counting these dates is confusing and tedious when confronted with hundreds of entries and takes too much time!). Box C is a simple table that calculates 'weekly cumulative completed projects' -- this data will be plotted on a line graphs with x-axis as 'Week Start Date' and y-axis as # completed projects within each week.

Yes, I viewed another user's similar issue but was unsuccessful.

That works nicely! Exactly what I wanted to be done!
