Determining Top Score of Multiple Columns

    Hi all,

I am trying to determine the top score of rankings in three different columns Q, R and S
Each column represents a category (Ms, Mil and Mace)

Here is the formula for Column Q

Here is the formula for Column R

Here is the formula for Column S

G123 is the formula for the Max score
Please Login or Register to view this content.
The problem is that every column now ranks from 0 through whatever. I want to leave out the high score from the column where it occurs and then have the other columns list from 1 through whatever.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for any help!

Yes... post a sample workbook with a good set of sample data. IN the sample, manually mockup the "rank results" you want to achieve and explain it referring to this data if it's not glaringly obvious.

Click GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to post up a copy of your workbook.

Re: Determining Top Score of Multiple Columns

    Hi,

Attached is sample of the worksheet. I am trying to list the Overall Sweepstakes Winner at the bottom of the sheet (G12) Of the three columns (MS, MIl and Mace)the column with the Maximum winner should retain the 0, the other two columns should then show 1 (st) through whatever. The reason that there are three columns is that at most competitions there are three classifications Ms, Mil and Mace, but they sometimes award an overall high award. At some competitions there is an open class instead of the three classifications(all in the same class) hence the Open column.

The nice thing about doing it this way is that at competitons where only 1st through ? is awarded (No Sweepstakes) I can just remove the G123 formula and everything will list as 1 through?

Thanks for any help you can give!

    John

Attached is the sample file without any errors.

I woud like to list the highest score of Column Q, R, and S combined and then list the rankings of each individual column. So If column Q has the highest score it would list, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. The other columns R and S would only list 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. If column S has the higest score it would list 0, 1, 2,3 etc. and the others would list 1,2,3,4, etc.Doe s that make sense?

    Thanks
