Associate / Link data based on location. Aka Conditional Row Copy

    Help.png

I am a new user and was a little unsure of where exactly to post this question to, so please show mercy.

I have been given a large data set containing Locational, Name, Date, Legal Description and a number of other information assigned to an ID or Lease number.
Columns are as follows Lease / Name / Status / Exp Date / Ext Date / Legal Desc / etc. (see picture or workbook)
Most of the data is contained in the same row, but when i get to the Legal description column I have multiple rows of data pertaining to the initial row that holds the Name dates etc (essentially a sub dataset).

You need to know how the data works first however. TXXN RXXE are essentially mapping/grid callouts, and the subsequent sections are subsets within each of those callouts.
These Grid locations are covered by a Lease, and multiple leases might pertain to Any one location.

    Ex: Lease 1 will cover T01N R01E: Sec 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
    Lease 2 will cover T01N R01E: Sec 1, 2,
    Lease 3 will cover T01N R01E: Sec 6

Is there a Macro that will copy and paste all of the Lease Name / EXP date to each subsequent empty row, and when it gets to an already full row (read new lease entry), copy that rows contents and continue pasting down and so on? That way i could sort by lease or name or date and each entry would stay complete.

    To simplify.....

    XA1
    __2
    __3
    YB1
    __2
    __3
    into
    XA1
    XA2
    XA3
    YB1
    YB2
    YB3

    Thanks!

    Hello,

You don't necessarily need a macro when there's perfectly good standard Excel functionality.

See the attached file. I've added four new helper columns and entered formulae in there which populate all the rows.
You can either leave these as they are and filter using the new columns or copy and paste them back to E2 as values then delete them.
