Combining/Referencing multiple cells from another sheet - concatenate?

I'm trying to combine the contents of multiple cells in worksheet, into a single cell in another worksheet.

It's basically a planning calendar that starts off with weeks, then rolls up into quarters, then years.

So in one sheet called "weeks" I have events planned in cells designated as week 1 (a1), week 2 (a2), etc....

On the next higher schedule which is a worksheet called "quarterly", I want the contents combined into one cell that references a quarter. e.g. Q1 (a1), Q2 (a2), etc...

So for Q1, (in cell a1) I entered =concatenate(weeks!a1&""&a12), but it only brings in the text entered in sheet "weeks" cell a1.

    Help!

I sorta got it to work by typing

    =CONCATENATE(weeks!a1, weeks!a2, weeks!a3, etc)

Is there a better way plus insert spaces?
