    Excel misaligned row weirdness

Okay, this is driving me bonkers. For no apparent reason about every half a dozen instances when I enter data the view of my spreadsheet on-screen is skewed, as if someone took my rows and bumped them down a few cells in one or more columns so that now my data is misaligned or not showing up at all. If I save and/or move up and down several times, it will finally straighten itself out but it's very annoying, as well as a huge time-waster. Has anyone else had this problem?

I tried googling it, but I can't think of the correct combination of search terms because none of the searches are returning answers to what I'm talking about. I just keep getting "how to cut and paste" or "how to align a query" or some such. This is merely a simple spreadsheet with 5 columns and a bunch of rows. No macros, no fancy formatting, just "Source; Name; Address; Phone, Comments". Good grief!

    Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem with a very large and complex workbook I use to track work within my team. Most of the data is set up to be populated by user forms, but sometimes I edit a cell manually just to make a quick chance. Doing that quite often causes cells to 'jump' several columns to the right and Excel seems to get confused about which cell the cursor is in.

Sounds like it might be a similar problem to the one you're seeing.

I don't have a fix, other than I have a short cut key set up to update and re-sort the data in my workbook and running that seems to fix everything.

Thanks so much! At least I know I'm not alone. Luckily mine aren't actually miss-sorting themselves, so I don't have to re-sort anything. It only has the appearance of it for a few seconds (5-10?) and then resolves itself (sorry that's the best way I can explain it). My main complaint is that dinking around with scrolling up and down or saving two or three times in a row cuts into my production time after a very short number of repeats of this problem. Since I can't see what's in my next row (the little weirdly broken up rows are somehow hiding some of the data and producing blank spots instead), I have to wait. And while a few seconds might not seem like much, multiplied out over an 8-10 hour work day, it really adds up. I could understand it a lot better if I did have some complex tracking sheet complete with forms and such. But this is basically just a little glorified grocery list. Argh!
