Question Sumifs or vlookup up formula required for searching 2 columns and returning a specifi

Hi, hoping for help on a formulas that’s been frying my brain..thanks in advance.. Please see my attached example.

I’m looking for a formula that will do the following:

Search for (a value in column B has the same value as a specific cell in column E)

    AND search for

(a value in column A which has the same value contained within one of 4 specific cells in column D eg if E9 was in the first part of the formula then the specific cells would be D6,D7,D8 or D9)

If the conditions are met I would like the formula to return the column E value into column G.

    Please see my attached example.

    Thanks

Re: Sumifs or vlookup up formula required for searching 2 columns and returning a spe

    Hi there,

Columns A & B are on one bank statement and columns D & E are on another bank statement. If a transfer between the two bank accounts took place then I want colum G to return the value.
When I exported the bank statements the dates arent necessarily on the same row as the $amount, if they were I htink a formula would be a whole lot easier.

    Thanks

im not sure you can do that with the dates being an undetermined distance from the value, but you could add a macro to add dates to every line, then its a simple exercise

    see attached.

    Hi

That's a great idea to add dates to every line, well done! The formula you have done in column G is perfect.

My bank statements are enormous so how do I add a macro to add dates? I opened your example but couldnt see how the dates were added.

    Thanks

the macro was also included in that sheet, if you put your data into the same columns, it should find all of your values
