    Reformatting dates

    Hello there,

I deal a lot with copying date records from SQL and pasting them in Excel. Invariable, every time I do so the formatting in Excel for all those records look like this "00:00.0". I always use the date format "m/dd/yyyy" so in the Number Formats menu I select Short Date and I'm good to go. My question is if there is a short key to get that date formatting or if it can be easily created. I'm aware of CTRL+# but the date formatting using that code is not what I'm looking for

    Thanks for your help

    alepag,

    In Excel 2007 you can use: Alt+H > N > S > Enter
Alt+H takes you to the home tab, N selects the NumberFormat, S brings it to Short Date, Enter confirms and applies it to the selected cell(s).
    Hope that helps,
