    Protected sheets

    hi,

I have a sheets which is a glorified "to do" list - however, each of the tasks can have an unspecified number of sub-tasks. These are inserted using a macro. However, I want to protect the sheet, locking some cells so thay cannot be accessed by other users. However, when I do this the insert macro function fails - because I am trying to change a protected cell - I assume because I am trying to move a protected cell down to make way for the new row. Is this inevitable and a sheet that requires rows or blocks of cells to be inserted cannot be combined with protected cells?

    Many thanks,

    RDS

Add the following code to your macro

Change the sheet number and password to suit and the Unprotect to Protect to put the protection back on at the end of your code.

    Re: Protected sheets

Well, I tried it, but I must have got something wrong...

I used my worksheet name, substituted my password, protected the sheet using this password but I get an error on the line "PRRList"
