Sort but borders always remain there. How?

Hi, my data consist of companies name, the room their workers is staying and the name of the workers. The list is over 3000+ long. We need to charge them Admin fee, laundry fee etc. I use the Subtotal function so that i could c the subtotal of all the admin fee etc, however, i need to underline the subtotal. I sort in a way that all the subtotal will appear on top. For example, Row 1-230. Den i do the underlining. However, how come when I sort it back to its original, the underline border remain at row 1-230? It wont move together with the subtotal.

I use Filter instead, and this time it works. I am just curious how come when I sort, the border wont go together with the cell. It stay in the same row. Anyone can advice?

hmm... i am new here. I do not know how to post sample file. Let says,
    Row1 David $20
    Row2 Peter $20
    Row3 Subtotal $40

I sort in a way that Subtotal goes to Row 1. So it become,

Row1 Subtotal $40 (I underline the border, lets assume underline mean the border being underline)
    Row2 Peter $20
    Row3 David $20

After that, i sort it back to its original arrangement, i get
    Row1 David $20
    Row2 Peter $20
    Row3 Subtotal $40

How come it wont appear as

    Row1 David $20
    Row2 Peter $20
    Row3 Subtotal $40
