I put big numbers in cell. I don't want the "E+ number" contraction. How do I stop it

When I put a big number in a widened cell, when I go to the next cell, this first number contracts down to the first few digits of it,and is followed by "E+25" or "E+31", depending on the length of my number. I want to be able to see all the numbers in my table, at a glance. Another thing that happens is that half the number disappears and is replaced by zeros. I've tried this on a later excel, and the same thing happens. I've tried to re-format this, but nothing works. can anyone help with this. thanks

Try formatting the cell as text and see

    Hi Patrushka,

    Welcome to the forum.

See the Excel Limits and specifications in below Microsoft Link:-

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...010073849.aspx

It says Number precision = 15

    Also,

You can put single quote ( ' ) and then if you type the number, you'll get to see entire number BUT then they are no longer Number and has been converted to TEXT.

Thank you DILIpandey. I see this limit of 15 numbers but don't understand why it should be so. Do you know of a Table in some other application or on Mac or anywhere where the limit is far greater, eg 60 or seventy digits? Thanks again. Patrushka

You're a genius DILIpandey. The single quote seems to have done the job. thanks again, and may you be lucky in love and lucky in wealth and health. Patrushka

Thanks for your reply OnErrorGoto0. I don't need to apply operations . One thing though, because I'm using a cell which is half a page wide, when I try to move horizotally, ie left to right, it jumps from one cell to the next. I can't seem to get it 'halfway' as such.
