    Sumif

I am working on a file that is updated/pulls new information every 12-24 hours and need to provide data that could be added together over the course of several shifts or days and am having trouble writing the sumif statement to supply the correct data. On the attached file, as it is saved, MTD! F35 should supply a number coinciding with the work order showing in MTD! F33 from worksheet Feb 2012!. It may be a sum of 4 separate rows, in this case rows 65, 72, 78, and 84, but only if the speceific work order shows in the file more than once. Can someone help me out?

    Thanks

Re: Sumif Questions - Need Help

    Hi Redbullmoo,

I am not able to get it completely... On Cell F35 in MTD sheet tab what results you are looking for and basis which logic and what range / cells would be considered for that?

    Re: Sumif

When you change the day of the month (cell D17), the information in the cells (i.e. MTD! F35) will all change based on the index statement provided in the rows above (i.e. MTD! F33). The way that the data sheet (Feb 2012) is built in this case, each of the data lines are contained within the same set of rows (for this instance, rows 65, 72, 78, 84). What I need is that when the work order that shows in cell F33 is for any prep time associated with that work order to be summed and provided in F35. On the MTD sheet, each shift will reference the same range on the Feb 2012 worksheet and each line will reference its own set of rows on the Feb 2012 worksheet (for instance line 5 is all of rows 64 - 93). The trick is that Job 3 for 1 shift could be Job 1 for another and so on....

    Hi Redbullmoo,

I am afraid and still not got it.. could you enter the result manually in the respective sheet and highlight plus comment that what cells / range need to be calculated to obtain the same and I will try to achieve that manual figure using some formulas. Please upload the sheet as suggested. Thanks.

    Re: Sumif

Thank You for helping me through this one. I have changed the date and found a work order with 2 data points that I need to sum. In MTD! I38 I have placed a simple sum statement to show you the cells where the values are located Feb 2012! AB165 and Feb 2012! AC158.

    Hi Redbullmoo,

See the attached file where I have tried solving your query.. but I strongly believe you need to structure / present your data very well in order to work efficiently with formulas. After the data is aligned properly, that is where you can start formulating the workbook. Would suggest you to show the spreadsheet to few of your colleagues and take your help in data arrangement. Thanks.

    Re: Sumif

Again, thank you for you help. I was able to reorganize the data slightly, but added in a few rows for the sumif to capture the correct numbers and not miss any as the file is updated. I have attached it in case you wanted to view.

    Thanks
