Convert mm/dd/yyyy to 2-digit dd format

    Dear all

I have a data set containing date in mm/dd/yyyy format. I want to convert this column to 2-digit dd format to work with as numbers. For example convert 04/26/2006 to 26. Fortunately these data are gathered only on one year (2006) so it can be possible to omit year. How can I do this?
    Thanks!

I have tried this. This changes, for example, 09/07/2006 to 01/07/1900. But I need only the day without any "/" sign.

It does not have my desired format. The nearest format is day name with initial letter such as M. I need the numeric value of the day to plug into next statistical analysis.

I have got my answer by try and error. First to change the format to "14-Mar" and then apply =day(). Thanks!

Re: Convert mm/dd/yyyy to 2-digit dd format

It sounds like you got your answer, but when you first used the DAY() formula and got 01/07/1900, you needed to change the format of the cell to "General". This would show just the number, not in a date format.

You could also create a custom format "d" or "dd" depending on whether you want to force a leading 0 on the first 9 days of the month.
