    Disk Full error

I am having a problem saving a 2007 .xlsx file as a 97-2003 .xls file (I need to send it to someone with Excel 2003). Whne I try to save the file I get the message "The Disk is F)ull" But I have 176 GB free disk space. The problem may have started after installing required Microsoft updates (required by my company). Internal tech support can not find a solution (have spent hours it). Any ideas?

Have you tried to completely change the file name, as well as the extention? Also, try making up a brand new sheet with a bit of data in it, and try the same thing with that file and see if you get the same result?

Tried all of those, no luck. I need the .xls extension, that's what gives me a file the other person can use for validation. I can save to a flashdrive but not a network drive.

Yes I understand the need for the .xls extention, that was just to see if it was the file itself or if it was a problem with all files. So you had the same problem with a completely new file as well?
