how to insert a row of cells automatically

I have a worksheet for tracking my credit card transactions. At the end of the worksheet i have a total which updates automatically. But every time i add another transaction i have to first add a row of cells for the transaction. Is there a way for excel to automatically insert a another row of cells or to maintain some barrier between my transactions and my "grand total"?

Put your Grand Total at the top, and then sum the entire column (e.g., G:G) so that it picks up each addition line item. Also, freeze the cells so that Grand Total always appears at the top even when you scroll down.

That's a really good idea, don't know why I hadn't thought of that. It's simple and solves my issue. Thanks.
