in column D, i have a long list of ID numbers. how would i go about getting this information into a short list where there are no gaps and no repeats
(meaning that if there are 100 unique entries of the 1000 rows, the next column will only show the 100 unique entries from row 1 to 100)

disregard - i worked it out with some helper columns
Copy the entire list to a blank column. Click on Data-> Remove Duplicates. You will be left with the 100 you need.
