IF with multiple variables - template?

We have a request for a business scenario where there are multiple variables and would like some help building the appropriate IF statements (or best solution).

Example:
A fixed budget (5,500) is available for a short educational course that must break even.
Variables would be for several cost items, such as marketing, instructor, materials, room rental, # students and registration fee.

Is this asking too much to have Excel work out various of these variables if only one or two are given...?

If there's a ready-made template that could be used, where some fixed values could be fed in, that might also work.

Hi Susan,

Welcome to the forum.

So on your example where is "IF" coming into picture.. I guess you are trying to divide budget into variables and that should be done on some weightage / percentage criteria. Post a sample file with your desired results entered manually and I'll try to obtain the same using formulas thanks.
