    filter by multiple Parameter

    Hi all,

I'd really appreciate your help on the followin please.

I have a large list of keywords (about 20,000) and I want to pull out all the ones that are counties.

Now i have made myself an excel list of counties, I now just want to pull out all the keywords that include those counties in my original list.

is there anything I can do to achieve this please?

    cheers,

    Myles

So you haven't really said how they are displayed. You could use Index() with match() but I have no idea what your data looks like.
If someone helped give them rep using the star button.

If you have received a satisfactory solution please mark the thread solved. If not Fotis will come for you at night :P

    Re: filter by multiple Parameter

    Sorry, let me clarify

Well its a long list with lots of keywords e.g:

    jobs witney
    job in witney
    witney job
    jobs in woking
    woking jobs
    jobs woking
    job in woking
    woking job
    local jobs in woking
    jobs in wokingham
    wokingham jobs
    jobs wokingham
    job in wokingham
    wokingham job
    local jobs in wolverhampton
    latest jobs in wolverhampton
    jobs in worcester
    worcester jobs
    jobs in worcestershire
    jobs worcester
    worcestershire jobs
    jobs worcestershire
    worcester job
    job in worcester
    job in worcestershire
    jobs in workington
    workington jobs
    jobs workington
    jobs in worksop

Now some of these keywords contain Counties in the UK and they are the ones that I want to pull out of the list without going through and doing it manually.

I have put the indevidual counties in a list I just to run some sort of filter/function to pull out the relevent keywords.

    cheers,

    Re: filter by multiple Parameter

How do you mean pull out? Do you want another column next to it with either a blank cell if no match and just the county if there are other words?

Or do you just want to count the number of occurences of each county?

    Re: filter by multiple Parameter

So, I just want a list (either left there or pulled to another column/workbook - it doesn't matter) of all the counties.

    so from the list:

    jobs witney
    job in witney
    witney job
    jobs in woking
    woking jobs
    jobs woking
    job in woking
    woking job
    local jobs in woking
    jobs in wokingham
    wokingham jobs
    jobs wokingham
    job in wokingham
    wokingham job
    local jobs in wolverhampton
    latest jobs in wolverhampton
    jobs in worcester
    worcester jobs
    jobs in worcestershire
    jobs worcester
    worcestershire jobs
    jobs worcestershire
    worcester job
    job in worcester
    job in worcestershire
    jobs in workington
    workington jobs
    jobs workington
    jobs in worksop

it would just pull out the ones containing counties eg:

    jobs in worcestershire
    worcestershire jobs
    jobs worcestershire
    job in worcestershire

    Re: filter by multiple Parameter

It would know which ones are counties because I have compiled a list of all counties for it to reference against.

    cheers
