Consolidate Column consisting of Dates for graph

Hi there,

Hopefully I'm posting in the right place.

Please could someone help. I have two columns one with dates and the other with numerical entries. I want to consolidate the dates and sum the corresponding values .

I have tried the consolidate funtion but it just inserts the data the same without any formatting - no consolidation.

Can you attach your workbook for us?

How do you want to consolidate dates? Group by month, by week or what?
You may be able to do this using the Autofilter.

Thank you for the reply. For some reason my upload fails so apologies.

Anyway, I have resolved my problem to some extent (Stripping out the time and just leaving the date itself allows for consolidation) but I'd appreciate an extra little bit of help. I am having difficulty applying my function to the entire column. I am having to drag my function manually to apply to thousands of cells. I'm not sure how to apply it easily by typing in cell numbers into the function created. No doubt it is basic but I'm not very profficient in this area.

Basically, this is my workbook.
Column A had times attached (hr:mins:secs) but I stripped these out by using the formula DAY(A2)&"/"&MONTH(A2)&"/"&YEAR(A2)1,""). To do so I placed them into a separate column.
I can now apply the consolidate function.
