    totals under different criteria

    I need the total of FIXED and VARIABLE costs for different tasks listed in rows.
    How do I get the totals seperately for both vaiables. Please see the example I have attached.
    Also if someone decides to change the criteria from FIXED to VARIABLE or vice versa the totals need to capture the changes

    Hi Chawee,

    Try this formula in B10 and then fill it down and to the right:

    =SUMIF($A$2:$A$6,$A10,B$2:B$6)
