    Verbal outcome from dates

    Hello,

attached i have an example of the outcome i would like to have.

i have a spreedsheet that is filled with 1 of 3 things. there is either a date, the word "rejected" or the cell is left blank. i want to have a column at the end of the data which gives the final status for each concept.

If the row for each concept is filled with just dates then the status should be "approved". if there are just dates and at least 1 blank and none "rejected", then the status should be "ongoing". If there is at least one cell that says "rejected" then the status should be "rejected".

From this information i will make another sheet that pulls the statuses to make an overview of all of the conepts, eventually some pie charts.

Not sure if this would be easier to make some type of pivot table (not very familiar with) or just do the formulas and link the sheets.

    thanks for the help.

in N3, enter =IF(NOT(ISERROR(MATCH("rejected",C3:L3,0))),"Rejected",IF(COUNTBLANK(C3:L3)>0,"Underway","Approved")) and drag it down
