Excel 2007 : Comparing and matching two text columns

Hello,

I have two lists of company names and I have to find whether names in List B are contained in List A. I’d also like to find companies that are similar to each other as well as an exact match. In my example, the two companies at the top of the columns are almost but not quite the same and I’d like to highlight those too. Someone advised me to use conditional formatting but I don’t see how I can do that with text if I’m not only after exact matches. The names in list B appear in Upper and Lower case. Do I have to convert the list to all Upper case to compare the two columns?

I'm attaching a sample file for your reference. Any help you can give would be gratefully received.

Hello Alan,

Many thanks for your reply but as a relatively new Excel user, I don't understand it. I can't even find "Fuzzy" in Excel help. Is there a more basic explanation that would help?
