Searching 2 columns for similiar matches

I have 2 columns that contain names in no particular order. I need to search each name in column A for a potential match in column B w/o regard to row. For example,

    A
    Mary
    Ben
    Steve

    B
    Bobby
    Oscar
    Mary Hall

The function/forumla should find Mary Hall as a potential match for Mary even though it is not an exact match.

    Thanks -

    Try

    =IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH("*"&A2&"*",B:B,0)),INDEX(B:B,MATCH("*"&A2&"*",B:B,0)),"")

    copied down
