I feel as if there is a simple solution to this problem I am having and I can't seem to figure this out.
I am trying to create a troubleshooting log that gives the user all the information at his/her fingertips.
I need a way to link the the first drop down list to the second drop down list ( Both marked in yellow on EXAMPLE, the second drop down list being "alarm code")
The first drop down list will be selecting the model number of the unit and the second drop down will be selecting the alarm code that corresponds to the unit. Then the remaining information will be selected by using ( I am assuming) a VLOOKUP function.
The things I can't figure out:
1) How to select a model which is different on each sheet and link it to the alarm code drop down list
2)What function to use in the "description" "cause" and "remedy" cells
Help will be much appreciated, or at least a link or place to get started. I tried data validation and a few other functions without success, I am trying to stay away from VBA because I am not very familiar with it
