Hey there,
Thank you in advance for helping me out with this particularly strange issue I have never seen before. Been an excel user for 15 plus years (probably closer to 20 now). I need help.
When you typically select a cell and then hit 'CTRL+C', you will get a jogging dotted boarder around the cell indicating that it is selected for copy. Unfortunately, mine does not do that. Here is where it gets strange: When I go to the clipboard menu under excel, and show the clipboard, every time I hit 'CTRL+C', I get TWO items on the clipboard. One is an Excel item and the other looks like a standard notepad or similar type item. It seems that the notepad version is the one on top of the group, thus it is what selected. If I actually try to paste somewhere else in Excel, it is merely the cell contents as text, not any of the cell properties like boarder, formula, fill color, etc. This is not what I want to do normally.
Even more strange is the fact that when I try to 'CTRL+C' with the clipboard open, I can see both being added again, and then I try several more times, again and again and again. Once in a while, I can do so quickly or correctly where the first item in the clipboard is the Excel item. When that is true, THEN the jogging dotted boarder around the cell is present. Weird, right?
I have no idea how to change/correct this issue and I am at wits end trying to do so. It is killing me because I like to copy a group of cells from Excel into Outlook for examples, but without the jogging boarder, it becomes a pile of words with no format in the email. I want my jogging boarder back!
Any help is greatly appreciated and I hope you all have a great weekend. Thank you so much.
