    Formula for a total of the columns one cell to the right of category

    Hello,

    I recently discovered a formula that would assist in finding the sum of columns to the right of the catagory need.

    =SUMIF(A$1:A10,A12,B$1:B$10)
    If any cells in column A row 1 through 10 equal cell A12, The cell that contains this formula will include the sum of column B row 1 through 10 for cells containing

    I have attached an example

    It's not restricted to columns on the right, nor to adjacent columns, eg:

    =SUMIF(D$1:D$10,D12,A$1:A$10)

    will add corresponding cells from column A where column D cells equal D12.
