    Scoring based on a grid

    Hi All,

    I need help with the following problem:

    I have a scoring grid and I want to evaluate people based on that grid. PFA sample .xls

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Yes there would be but it would involve using complex string slicing to convert your current text labels (e.g. "3.8% - 5.6%" ) to values. If you think about it you are trying to look up numeric values in a table that doesn't include numerics to define the row and column bands. You should always use helper columns and rows in situations like this rather than overcomplicate with compound formulae - which are harder to read anyway.

    There's nothing of course to stop you hiding the extra row and column or locating them away from the data. The important thing though is that you have something for the MATCH() volume or defect rate values to work with.
