Separating a column of data by date order

    Hi,

I'm fairly new to excel so please bare with me if I seem uneducated on any suggested features. I have a column of data in A and a columnof data in B. Column A has dates and column b has a corresponding post/zip code. I either need a way of separating these so that a row gives a gap between each date. I will attach a my file and on sheet two show what I would like and on sheet one the format the data is in, I have replaced the postcodes to data 1 ect due to sensitive information. I have been doing this manually but if there was a way to separate it without I would be SOOOOOOOOO grateful. I thankyou in advance for any tips or advice.

    Hi,

On the attached, press Alt+F8 and run the macro.

I would love to say I was clever enough to come up with this myself, but I had a similar need a while back and found this code elsewhere.

You can copy the code and past it into a module on your own spreadsheet. Just make sure you press save before you run it as there is no undo.

Hi guys, thankyou so much for your help.

One question spencer101 will this apply to any data I would put into this worksheet? or does it only do specifics as the numbers of days/days will change I will test it now but just wanted to know thankyou though

It will work on any data in there. It just looks for changes in the data from row to row and then inserts a blank row when it spots a change.
