Hi everybody - I am getting desperate! The Auto Format icon disappeared and I have found no way to get it back! Is there a keystroke combination I could use? It is Windows XP not quite sure which year - I think my boss got the PC in 2006 or 2007.

Hi Phylliso,
Since you're using Excel 2003 (according to your profile), do you mean the Format > AutoFormat... menu command is missing or greyed out? I'm not familiar with the AutoFormat icon on a toolbar as default, unless it was added by someone.
If it's the menu item you're after, right-click anywhere in the toolbar and choose Customize. Click on the 'Commands' tab and then click 'Rearrange Commands...'.
In the Rearrange Commands window, select "Format" from the Menu Bar drop-down, then click the Reset button in the lower left. That should add 'AutoFormat...' back to the list. You can then click Close twice to return to the workbook.
If there was an icon, someone must have added it to the toolbar by using the Customize options. To do so, right-click anywhere in the toolbar area and choose Customize. On the Commands tab select Format, then to the right of that scroll down to AutoFormat... Select it and drag it to the toolbar where you want it. Click Close to close the Customize window.
Hope that helps!
