Question Change font Color for part of a cell, based on value of alternate cell

This question is a bit complicated, so I am going to do my best to clarify my goal.

The contents of Cell B2 are a concatenation of cell E3 and a calculation of C2-D2, with brackets added in via simple concatenation.
    Final appearance B2 = "402 [+10]"

I want to format the "[+10]" portion of the cell based on the calculation of C2-D2.
    - If C2-D2>0, font color should be RED
    - If C2-D2<0=, Font Color should be GREEN.
    - If C2-D2>50 or C2-D2<-40, BOLD

The "402" portion of the cell should stay Black.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

You couldn't do this with a formula, nor with conditional formatting, so you would need a macro to achieve that.

    Hope this helps,

Would it be possible to designate the font color for the entire cell (not just the [+10] ) without a macro?

Yes, use 'Conditional Formatting'. Then from the selection choose 'Use a formula to determine which cells to format.' Then use the logic you provided in your first post.
