Conditional Formatting: Format an entire row based on the contents of one column

    Hello all,

Looking to get a Green - White color scale applied to the entire row based on the contents of one column. I've attached an example with dummy data. Column K has the numbers by which I would format, and I'd like whatever color assigned to each of those cells applied to all the cells to the left of it in its row.

    Is this a possibility?

    Thanks

You didn't actually specify what the condition was, but maybe you can work with this...

    Hightlight the entire range

    In conditional formatting enter...

    =$K1>0

This will hightlight any row where K is greater than 0

I'm sorry, where exactly do I enter the formula?

    See if this helps

Home tab >> conditional formatting >> New Rule >> Use a formula to determine which cells to format >> Format values where this formula is true: Enter formula and select format

    Jeff,
This worked, however I'm looking for something slightly different. When I select column K, and simply select Conditional Formatting>>Color Scales>>Green - White Color Scale, several different shades of green are applied to the cells, the shade being determined by each number's relative relationship to the others. I'm looking to see if I can apply those shades to the entire row instead of just that cell.

    Is this possible?

So you want to use color scales across rows?

I can't see a way to make this happen, but you can setup more than one condition through the conditional formatting feature.

If you outline your requirment further maybe a solution can be developed.
