    Horizontal High low Graph

    HI guys,

I wanted to get some help with how I can create a horizontal High Low Graph. The Data Set is as Follows:
    Start Depth End Depth Speed
    0 2000 300
    2000 5000 500
    5000 4000 600
    3500 0 400
On the Y axis I would like the speed to be there and on the X axis is the Depth. There would be a straight line drawn between the two points of the start depth and end depth @ whatever the speed is.

Your Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The best way I've found to do this sort of thing is, in another part of the spreadsheet, create a small table. Extract the desired values from the main table into this table, then add this table as an additional series to the chart.

    Re: Horizontal High low Graph

I actually tried to do that with the data I had and It didnt work. I have multiple series that I need to show. I can add all the series but I am having trouble creating Horizontal Error bars. It worked for the first Series. The second one, when I come to select error bars it only gives me the option of inserting vertical error bars and not horizontal.

I have attached what the data will look like in a file. Also in the file is what I want the graph to look like but with 4 series instead of just one as shown.

All the help is greatly appreciated

Sounds like the additional series where Line charts rather than xy-scatter.

    Re: Horizontal High low Graph

You did not apply custom error values instead you used a value of 1, which on your scale would not appear from under the data markers.

    Re: Horizontal High low Graph

Oh wow thats great...Thanks...But how did you specify you wanted horizontal error bars rather than Vertical. It doesnt give u a choice when you click on the error bars button. It automatically assumes you want vertical. Did you have to do something first?

    Re: Horizontal High low Graph

When you use the Layout > Error bars button both X and Y error bars are added. The Y error bars are the default selection.
You can use the Chart selector drop down, which is on the Format tab, to select X error bars.

    SOrry Andy,

I have been trying for the last hour doing what you said on the spread im working on and its not working, every time i set what I want the error bar to read from, it goes back to the value of (1) when i check it again. Im gonna send you the actual spread....This is driving me insane

    Re: Horizontal High low Graph

It wont let me attach cuz Spread is bigger than 1 MB.

Any reason why when i set the Error bar range, when i push ok, it doesnt do anything, it just goes back to a blank when i check it again
It wont save the error bar range i specify
