Question Display string according to specified date without repetition

    Dear all,

It seems I'm stuck yet another time, but I hope you guys could help me with your knowledge as usual.

I have a workbook with two sheets. Sheet2 has a list of clients in the first column and amount of money in the second column and the date of purchase in the third column. The same client name is repeated everytime the client makes a purchase, so if the client makes two purchases his name will be in the list twice...and so on.

On sheet1 I have two cells for start date and end date, and I want to display the client names and their total purchases within the specified period without repetition, meaning that the client name will be shown once but with his total purchases. I have attached a sample workbook to make it more clear.

    Thanks in advance.

    Forum Rules
Please read and adhere to these simple rules!

    1. Use concise, accurate thread titles. Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change the title of the thread, click EDIT on the original post, then click the Go Advanced button, then change the title. If two or more days have passed, the EDIT button will not appear, and you need to ask a moderator to change the title.

When I'm changing the dates, the values don't change along. What I'm trying to do is sort of a search by date thing, so when I change the dates only clients who made purchases in that period should show along with their total purchases in that time period.

It seems the easiest way to do it is with pivot table. I have been trying formulas for the past 2 days with no result. Thanks anyway.
