Sequential Count of Ranked Unique Values

I need help writing a formula to do a sequential count of ranked unique values in a data set. Attached is a sample of what I'm looking to generate. I'd like a formula to automate the count in column B. So when the value in Column A changes, the formula would put a value in B that is the previous value in B plus 1. Any repeated values in A would yield a blank field in corresponding B cell.

    Hello, Welcome to the forum.

Assume the numbers starts from A2 to down. So in B2, then copy down.

Is the data always in increasing order?
