    Question Assigning a value to text cell but value not to display!

    Hi there
    I hope you can help my problem..
    I have to create a formula for multiple cells to then use these values as a part of a calculation.

    I need to assign a value to a cell but for the original data to remain i.e.
    eyfs1-3 or p6 = 1
    eyfs4-5 or p7 = 3
    eyfs6+ or p8 = 5
    1c = 7
    1b = 9
    1a = 11
    2c = 13
    2b = 15
    2a = 17
    3c = 19
    3b = 21
    3a = 23
    4c = 25
    4b = 27
    4a = 29
    5c = 31
    5b = 33
    5a = 35
    But when the 1c is entered in to the cell the value of 7 is assigned but the '1c' text remains visible.
    My next step with the values would be to use a different cell, i will have the 'value' of e1 - b1 = f1 calculated which can be a number e.g. 2 etc.
    I really hope this makes sense.
    Thank you for helping.!

    Is there any reason why you can't assign the cell values in an adjacent column? If so, perhaps you could attach a sample to better our understanding.

    Sorry for delay!!!
    I have attached the spreadsheet with comment notes on certain cells. I would rather not add an adjacent column if poss as as you can see there are many columns already present. Hope you can help.
