Excel 2008 : Finding adjacent values

Hi Everyone,

I like to ask your help, how i can find coresponding values in a row.
I have a table something like this column.

A, B, C, D, E, F

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
a, b, c, d, e, f

if I want to find;

1 it will copy
a in the adjacent row.

Use the below formula:-

=HLOOKUP($H$7,$A$1:$F$2,2,0)

where H7 is having value as 1. thanks.

Thank you for fantastic respond, I really suprise how quick to ask to this forum.

I test the formula you both posted, but unfortunately I reshuffled my table range of
values that correspond to adjacent row. To be more precise what I mean to say;

Column A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J,

a, b, c, d, e, f, a, e, c, a,
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10


If I want to find a
it will look up the number and show on my table
like this.

a
1
7
10
