Identifying Column from First Entry and Copying Entire Column

I am new to the forums and haven't used excel extensively since early college/highschool.

I am working with on an excel file with international shipping costs. The sheet is organized by shipping weights (column 1) and regions (row 1). Something like this only much bigger

    1 2 3 ...
    1 $2 $3 $4 ...
    2 $5 $7 $9 ...
    .
    .

I am searching for a method of imputing a region number from row 1 into a single cell and having excel search for the specified row number and copy the entire column (minus row 1) into a new column. I was able to do 7 columns before I discovered excel does not allow more than 7 nested IF statements.

Can anyone give me a hand/point me in the right direction.

    Cheers.

could you upload a sample for us to look at please? sounds like a lookup would work for you, but without seeing your data........
