Excel 2007 : Excel formula to count text in a 180 days period

Hi all experts,

I need help with a excel fromula, i want to count number of times text "A" appears in 180 days between two dates. So basically number of times text "A" appeared not more then 180 days apart. A big thank you to the person who can help me.

Are your dates exactly 180 days apart or are they say 60 days, some 500 days and you want the *highest* number of instances of A within 180 days of each other as opposed to the first instance of 180 days difference?

Hi, my two dates are 01/04/11 to the 31/03/12.

And I want to number of times text “A” appears between the above dates in a 180 days period.

Hi

A1:A100 >>Your dates

B1:B100 Your letters(A , .......)

D1=Start date

E1= End date.

Then use this formula.

Edit: In your case, E1=D1+180

Your total period is around 365 days and you want the number of A within a 180 day period. Which 180 day period do you want to check? Or is it as I suggested the highest number of A in any given 180 day period?
