    Employee Monthly Attendence Record

    Hello everyone,
Im trying to set up,what I thought would be a smple employee attendence record, but I've run into a bit of a problem. This record is for each month. If the employee has 5 or less days absent nothing happens, however on the 6th day in any given month disciplinary action mush be taken.I have a coloum that add all the rows for each member and another that is colored to catch the supervisor's attention. These work fine.Heres my problem. If an employee is out say 3 days in a row only one point is given but if they're out 3 non-consecutive days 3 points are given. And so on.All the (days) points are then added up in the fore-mentioned rows and totals are given for the month. How do I set up the rows to add only the instances in which a point is given for one absence and not for anything else?Any help is always greatly appeciated......Lou

    Hi Lou54,

I believe it would be better if you can use a sample workbook to explain your query. thanks.

    Re: Employee Monthly Attendence Record

    Hi Lou,

What I am able to understand is that.. three consecutive 1s should be treated as 1 and others should be 1 as and when they occur so,

    111--1-1 = 3
    1-1-1-1-1 = 5
    1-1-111-1=4

So I am taking three consecutives 1s as 1 and then adding the total.. let me know if I am correct in my understanding. thanks.

Yes DILI you are correct.Any combination of 1"s in concecutive order count as only 1 day of absents. And of course 1's at radom each count as 1 day of absents....Thanks for your help....Lou
