    Look up and select

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm only learning and not that young, so please keep it as simple as possible.

I have 3 columns for numbers (A, B, C) and 10 rows in each of those columns. The numbers in Column B and C are put in there from elsewhere. All this works fine.

What I want is excel to add up Column B to provide a total for B (TB) and add up the numbers in Column C to provide a total for column C (TC). This I want to select the highest of TB or TC.

What I want to do is populate the rows in A from the highest of TB or TC with the numbers in the relevant column. So if TC was higher than TB, I want the numbers from column C (on a row by row basis) to populate A. So C1 goes to A1, C2 goes to A2, etc. If TB was higher than TC , I want the numbers from column B (on a row by row basis) to populate A. So B1 goes to A1, B2 goes to A2, etc.

    Re: Look up and select

    ok hope this works.

On the attached sheet (fingers crossed), Column K and L are the ones I want to get the maximum of. They are populated by Column A through D.

Once the values are in columns K and L I want to know which column has the greatest value. I then want to populate Column H from either K or L, whichever total is greatest. If L is greatest, L4 goes to H4, L5 goes to H5 etc. If total K is greatest, K4 goes to H4, K5 goes to H5, etc.

    Hi

Do you mean in H4 and copy down, this?
