    Formatting cells changes data-value

    Hi

When I use the Format>Cells, to change format, the data is also changed completly, for example 13,04 turns into 0,54.

I tried both General and Number, same problem with both settings.

    Any ideas?

If I mark a single cell the format says custom, the data is imported from another software, however when it's imported the data appears like this 13.04.00 instead of 13,4. I import the data simply by copying the columns and paste into Excel.

Hi, 0,54 is the numeric value of the time 13:04. This means that Exel has interpreted 13.4 as the time of day 13:04. Try to format cells as text before you paste special as values. Then search and change all the periods (.) to swedish decimal comma (,).

Thank you for your answer, I'll also see if it's possible to export the data in another way than just to copy/paste, I suspect this might be the reason for the weird format.
