    Getting the name of the top 3 marks

    Hi,
    I have a data like this

    Smith 12
    John 15
    Kate 14
    Ivan 17

    I used the formula "=LARGE(A1:A4,1)" formula to get the highest mark.
    But now what i really want is to get the name of the student who scored the highest mark in a separate cell.
    I you guys could help me it would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi. Welcome to the forum.

    =INDEX(B1:B4,MATCH(C1,A1:A4,0))

    A= NUMBERS
    B= NAMES

    c1=Your Large, function.

    Is this, works for you?
    Regards

    Fotis.
