    Items used from a drop down list

    Dear Excel Masters,

    I use a daily employee time sheet. I would like to be able show (in another table) which items (pieces of equipment) from a drop down list have been used on each sheet. I am not quite sure how to phrase it so that I can search help files so I'm kinda stuck. I thought I would check with the experts. Thank you for any help!

    You can use countif or sumproduct function to achieve this.. but would be better to understand if you could upload a sample workbook.. thanks.

    It is still fairly primitive as I have not finished building the table. So far all I have is a list of different types of equipment, but I when I finish it will show specific pieces of equipment and their ID #'s. The idea is that when a specific piece is used, it needs to be recorded as used in another table. That table is also not built yet. Test running on sheet 'JOB 1'.

    Hi Karen,

    What I am able to make out is that..if any of the sheets (Job 1 to Job 14) have any data from row 9 and 10 of Master sheet that need to be checked and marked so that other sheets should be restricted to use similar data in their drop downs... let me know if I am correct in my understanding.. ?
    Also I am not able to see any dropdown... would suggest you to complete the workbook first and then upload. thanks.
