adding columns

Hi

Got a problem if anyone can help?

I'm trying to simply add a column to an existing worksheet however Excel won't let me coming up with an error box which says "This operation is not allowed. The operation is attempting to shift cells within a table on a worksheet"

When I attempt to convert the table to a range I am told there is not enough memory

Any ideas?

can you try this..
right clicking inside the table
selecting table\External Data Properties
insert column

Working on a Mac so no right click and no evidence of table\External Data Properties option
