What is causing ActiveX controls in my Excel file

    Hi,

I inherited an excel macro from someone and i am trying to make a few modifications to it. One change is somewhere in the file are activeX controls be cause i keep getting notified about ActiveX.

I want to find out whats causing this and remove it if i can.........but i have NO IDEA on how to find out whats causing the activeX.

    Any ideas?

You can certainly make them go away:

Before i just delete them i would like to know what it is i am deleting. However, maybe i can create a test file....delete all the stuff and then compare this to the real thing to see what was deleted and what stayed.......

i will let you know how it went.

did not work.....i ran the code you provided and it did in deed delete somethings.

however, when i go to tsave the file it still gives me a prompt for activex controls, xml stuff and other things. Now it may be that all the active x controls have been deleted per the code by shg but perhaps there are "other" things still in the file that i need to delete.........

well rather than figure this out i have decided to just re-create the file. Cutting and pasting things from the old file to the new file and saveing the new file along the way to see if the activex control comes back.
