Problem with copy cells and colors

In the Excelsheet the first three rows are blue the second three rows are orange, then the next three rwos are blue again….
If I copy the cell D2 down (to D3-D34)
then all the rows in column D will become blue and I have to reset the colors.
The same counts for the borders.
How can I copy cells without changing the colors and borders?
Is this possible without using the function paste special?

I believe you are stuck with 'Paste Values' (which technically no longer requires 'paste special' to access in 2007 since it is one of the paste options from the paste dropdown). You could assign a keyboard shortcut to it.
