    Golf Handicap

Almost there with this thanks to this forum:

What I need to do is:
Take 1 point off your handicap if you win the competion as well as the points for under par
in this example J McArdle won the comp, ie#1 in J10 so he should loose 1 from his handicap making his new handicap 12.5
but if his double bogie was less than par (D31) he should loose 1 for winning plus .2 for every shot under par.
So if his double bogie was 68 he would loose 71(D31)-0.6(he looses 0.2 for every shot under par)and -1 for winning
giving him a new handicap of 11.9
And if you know another way way doing the formulas post aswell because I'm trying to learn how good excel is

This doesn't address your problem directly, but it might be of interest to you, bearing in mind your last comment.

This workbook was started a while back and needs to be completed and checked, but it might give you some ideas.
It calculates members handicaps, rankings, etc using Stableford Rules, for rounds on several different courses, and competitions.

    Re: Golf Handicap

jjay2109, the file that I have attached will adjust handicapps for both stroke and stableford events, Adjust D6 to the course rating for stroke ie:72 or set it at 36 for stableford.

When you put the players score in column D or I the handicapp will adjust either up or down according to their score, the handicapp adjustments are are on the top left hand side.

hope this is of some use to you.
