Returning filtered data into new cell

    Hello,

I have a large spreadsheet that I filter based on one criteria (I'm filtering column A on sheet 'detail') . I would like to return the data to another cell on a different worksheet (column A in 'summary'). When I put a simple formula (=Detail!A7) Excel takes all values, not just the filtered ones. Also, the data I am working with is text. Any help is greatly appreciated--and I have no experiences with macros.

    Thanks!

    Hi There,

    Welcome to the forum

Please can attach your Excel file as it will be easier and will let us experiment with your data, formulas, codes... Also if you could plot the desired output the way you need it to with some comments and we can try our best to get a solution for you

    Thanks,
